Pair jailed for vigilante attack on paedophile [sic]

""TWO members of a vigilante gang who hunted down a paedophile [sic] and attacked him in the street have been jailed.

John Sargeant and Stuart Hunt went looking for JP with at least four others after hearing he had abused young girls.

They punched, kicked and hit the 20-year-old with a pool cue.

Sentencing the pair Judge Ian Pearson said the jail terms should be a warning to others who take the law into their own hands.

And he hit out at Sargeant who himself has a conviction for sexual activity with a child.

The judge said: ‘You justified this offence on the basis of vigilante action against a suspected, or actual, paedophile, in the area.""

Mum of victim describes Facebook sex pest JP as 'sick and twisted'

"The court heard P was arrested in October and admitted sleeping with a girl of 15 he met via the internet and grooming another 15-year-old.

He assaulted a 14-year-old girl he met on Facebook and took to his home, and incited another 14-year-old to send him naked pictures of herself.

Another 14-year-old girl was sent sexual messages and P incited another 14-year-old to engage in sexual activity, the court heard."
