Nonce is prison slang - derogatory, somewhat offensive and inflammatory, but, overall, little problem.
Once released, such a person is no longer a Nonce.

There are many people who steadfastly claim the label Paedophile, but, we use it, predominantly, in the medico-legal sense, so as to avoid dangerous confusion.
