The role of Public Affairs Assistant is a varied one, aimed at helping the NSPCC better manage its relationships with political and external audiences. Working closely with the team, you will support the delivery of a range of projects such as writing briefings for MPs and Peers, parliamentary events, campaigns and research into the many issues the team deals with.

The post holder will have experience or a good understanding of politics and the parliamentary process, and experience of supporting a team and managing a varied workload. Well-developed written and oral communications are vital, as is the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the NSPCC.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver the NSPCC’s important external affairs work."

72 per cent increase in executives paid over £100k a year at best known charities

Staff at the charities, which every year receive millions of pounds from members of the public, who are paid over £60,000 a year has also increased markedly.

The Telegraph looked at pay at eight of the best known charities – National Trust, RSPCA, NSPCC, Guide Dogs, WWF-UK, RSPB and Shelter and Barnardo’s – by analysing their report and accounts from 2010 to 2012."
